Yesterday the weather was terrible. In fact it was so bad only three people managed to get into the credit union. Not many but enough to be there in case any member showed up. Some did. We couldn’t offer a full set of services but we managed. It wasn’t that everyone else wasn’t working. Those that couldn’t make it were able to do some important work from home. Kudos go to Susan, Veronica and Rupe for braving the weather and getting in to manage the fort! Thank you all.
Here is wishing everyone at Mt. Lehman, Bradner and everywhere else a Very Merry Christmas and the Happiest New Year from all of us at the Credit Union.
At this point everything is working with our banking system. A few staff members have been at the credit union all night with the conversion of our switch and operating system. At this point we see no problems and will continue testing and monitoring throughout the day.
If you do have any problems with your MemberCard transactions or anything else please call the branch. We’ll be there all day.
We had a lively discussion this afternoon and came to the conclusion that we need more than just the half day Saturday for a Jean’s Day. So tomorrow is the official start of Jean’s Day on Friday. We now have 1.5 days available for wearing Jeans. The .5 day is Saturday where we are only open from 9 - 1 p.m.
We are also preparing something about what we are doing to manage the risk of fraud with MemberCard. Over the past year there has been a steady increase of fraudulent transactions. That was a key reason for the development of the MemberNote product. But there are other areas that everyone needs to know about to combat this problem. We’ll let you know about these in an upcoming post.
It would seem the time is ripe for Mt. Lehman Credit Union to begin it’s own blog. We will be posting information that members have an interest in. All staff members will hopefully contribute. And you the member are welcome to comment.
With the advent of Social Media we can use this simple blog as a means to communicate and also listen to members.
