The end of February

Published by admin under credit union, staff

It’s that crazy time of year again! RRSP has been the buzz word and the enthusiasm abundant! Added to the excitement there are always those of us who tend to leave things til the last minute when we know it’s coming around a year in advance! Oh well, we are as busy as I can recall from my past 15 years at this time so things are good. I think that saving for one’s future has finally caught on for the younger generation.

Speaking of saving for the future, won’t it be interesting as to how the new Budget’s “TFSA” (tax-free savings account) is received by Canadians. Fancy that…the Federal Government is enthusiastic about trying to reduce our tax dollars or is it a pre-election ploy that will be axed with the next change of government?

We have a position open that we are wanting to fill. It is an entry level job as a Member Service Representative. If anyone is interested please contact the credit union. We are currently interviewing people and are hoping to be able to hire someone by the end of the month.

Credit Union Day is only a day away

Published by admin under Members, staff

We have our staff meeting tomorrow morning and will be talking about what we need to prepare for Thursday. Kelly will be the video camera operator, getting footage of the days events and asking our members a few questions. There is the food to buy and prepare, the BBQ to setup, the tent guys to get the tent up and our president who cooks every single burger. We hear that a certain person from an advertising agency and camera person are coming by on Thursday to film some of the event. We’re hoping others (read credit unions) take the challenge and celebrate by sharing the event through the internet. See you Thursday!

15th year anniversaries

Published by admin under staff

Last night all the staff were at the local Sammy J. Peppers restaurant to celebrate Susan and Gene’s 15th employment anniversary. Both started in the Summer of ‘92 and have seen a lot of changes at Mt. Lehman Credit Union. Both were presented a gift to show appreciation for the contributions they have made over the years.
